The House
Explore the beautifully preserved home of Justin Morrill, where history and charm meet on his picturesque Strafford homestead. Guests can admire the home’s distinctive Gothic Revival architecture, original furnishings, and thoughtfully designed gardens that reflect Morrill’s deep love of beauty, education, and public service. The house is especially significant as the lifelong residence of the visionary behind the Morrill Land-Grant Acts, which transformed higher education across America.
While the space is currently closed for maintenance, typically the Vermont Division of Historic Preservation offers tours that allow visitors to explore the rooms where big ideas took shape and to experience the warmth of a true Vermont treasure.
